Prescriptions

Repeat Medications

If you are required to take repeat medication you will be issued with a repeat slip (This is the white slip attached to the right-hand side of your prescription).

Repeat prescriptions should be ordered before your medication runs out. Please give at least 48 hours notice. If we are not able to produce a prescription within 48 hours, there may be a problem with your medication and the prescribing doctor may not always be available.

Please understand that we cannot process prescriptions when the surgery is closed.

Hanham Health patients can order their repeat medication in the following ways:

  1. Using our online ordering system
  2. Telephoning one of the local pharmacies
  3. Bringing your repeat prescription request slip into reception

Patients can also take their repeat slip to their usual pharmacy. Some pharmacies are happy to take requests over the telephone.

Please note - Hanham Health does not take repeat medication requests over the telephone as this may result in errors.

Your complete prescription will be available for collection at Reception, however if you wish to collect your prescription from one of the local pharmacies please advise us when you make your request.

Oldland Surgery

The Oldland Surgery is a dispensing practice and maybe able to dispense medications to patients who live more than one mile away from a pharmacy. We also offer this service to those patients who obtain permission from the Avon Primary Care Support Agency due to hardship from infirmity or illness.
