Out of Hours and Medical Advice
If you need to see or speak to a doctor when the surgery is closed, please dial 111 to contact NHS 111.
NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
The NHS 111 service is staffed by a team of fully trained advisers, supported by experienced nurses. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, then give you the healthcare advice you need or direct you straightaway to the local service that can help you best. That could be A&E, an out-of-hours doctor, a walk-in centre or urgent care centre, a community nurse, an emergency dentist or a late-opening chemist
The fully trained NHS 111 team will collect the caller's personal details, and obtain further information about the nature of their call. They will then make recommendations as to whether a patient needs to be transferred to the BrisDoc Out of Hours service.Out-of-hours
Did you know there are alternatives to A & E?
In South Gloucestershire there are many health services to help you keep well and provide support and treatment if you become unwell. These services are alternatives to hospital A & E departments and you are likely to have a shorter wait.
A & E departments are for people with life threatening conditions and many people who visit could be treated at an alternative.
By making the right choice at the right time, you will get the best and most appropriate care and treatment.
Minor Injuries Unit
For all minor injuries such as wounds, sprains, burns, and broken bones you can visit this walk-in unit.
You will be assessed by a practitioner with expertise in minor injuries and there is an x-ray facility on site. (This centre does not treat minor illnesses such as sore throats).
The Minor Injuries Unit is open 8.30am – 7.30pm Mon – Fri
10.00am – 2.00pm Sat & Sun
